A&B Laboratorios has been recognized in the European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE), organized by the European Commission, in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) category, for the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in its strategic business plan.

Sergio Gutierrez, the Company’s CEO, received this award in the ceremony celebrated in Vienna on 14 November. “This award recognizes the effort by all the persons at A&B Laboratorios who work hard every day to offer society sustainable products with a low environmental impact. This award also includes our customers who share the same concern.” Gutierrez declared. “Recognitions such as this award help us to continue to remain faithful to our origins in our commitment to the planet and people’s safety which are the two main pillars of our organization”.

The award-winning initiative serves as an example to align the SDG with the corporate strategy to develop are a more social, sustainable and profitable company. And this has made us increasingly more aware of the impact of our actions and to focus our efforts to achieve positive changes to benefit people and the planet.

The European Business Awards for the Environment received 161 applications from European companies from 19 countries this year, among which, A&B Laboratorios was one of 22 preselected candidates. On two previous occasions, A&B Laboratorios won the European Business Awards for the Environment in the Spanish section.

Organized by the European Commission since 1987, these Awards recognize and honour the companies which successfully combine the viability of their businesses with the protection of the environment and they do so by introducing Eco-Innovations in management and processes as well as in the products or services which they offer, in business cooperation or by combining business and biodiversity. In Spain, these Awards have been celebrated since 1997.
