NSF Certificate... a Food Safety Guarantee
As stated in its website, the NSF (National Science Foundation), is an independent organization which facilitates the development of public health and safety standards; it assesses, audits and certifies products and services that help to protect foods, water, consumer products and the environment.
To obtain the NSF certification, a rigorous process must be passed which GUARANTEES that the product complies with the strict public health standards and the International NSF – Food Safety & Quality certification polices.
From extensive testing/material analysis to unannounced plant inspections, every aspect of a product’s compliance is meticulously assessed before it can achieve certification.
Likewise, regular inspections of the service or certified product are carried out; so that if it fails to comply with any of the criteria at any time, NSF may take the respective measures and withdraw the certificate.
The NSF brand is specific for the product type on which it appears which means that it complies with all the required standards; including the product assessment and regular inspections.
In the website, it is possible to query which companies and products comply with these standards. For example, the list of A&B products with the NSF register are listed in different categories (A1, general purpose cleaners; K1, cleaning solvents; and H1, lubricants), which means that they are certified and 100% safe for use under the conditions compiled in their data sheets.
